Craftsman Garage Door Remotes not accepting codes?
It started with replacing one of the two outside keyless entry pad batteries. Then, the transmitter that fits on the car visor would not work. I tried resetting it and it still would not work.
We have two doors, each with its own transmitter and outside keypad. I have tried changing the batteries in both visor transmitters and changing the codes on the outside pads. The opener in the garage blinks as it should to accept the codes, but does not accept the transmitter when you try to open the door.
Also, after changing the outside keypad codes, they were accepted and worked once and then they no longer accepted the codes to open the door — I even got locked out!
Both doors WILL open using the buttons by the door to the house, but that’s the only way they work.
Any suggestions as to what is wrong here or what I need to do? I bought them at Sears a few years ago, both 1/2 h.p.

I don’t know about the keyless pads, but the remotes have several dip switches in them. When you open one up you can see these numbered switches.
Both remotes should have the same setting as the corresponding door opener. Start with one door.
1- Start with fresh batteries (not one) both.
2- Open the plastic cover on the rear of the opener motor and there is a set of numbered switches there too.
3- If the remote is set to 2-3-4, the opener should be also set to 2-3-4.
4- get one working the do the other with 1-2-3 on the remote and 1-2-3 on the opener motor.
Sears should be able to explain the problem with the keyless pad after you get the remotes working.
