Who would win in a fight? U.S.S Enterprise or an Imperial Star Destroyer?
lol ive always been curious about that. What do you think? give details about why either one would win. Both vessels can use their normal cargo of support ships like tie fighters and shuttles but NOT for kamikaze tactics only support fire!!
Depends on the model number your talking about. The Original Series NCC-1701 no. The Star Destoryers shear mass and payload are considerable next to the old Constellation Class starship.
Even the Refit 1701 in the beginning trek movies may have a tough time of it.
Later Enterprises’ like the Excelsior Refit Class NCC-1701-B in “Generations” would see it starting to pack a considerable punch, going on to the Ambassador Class 1701-C which according to the original time line took on an armada of Romulan Warbirds before finally being destroyed.
Which brings us to the Galaxy Class Starship NCC-1701-D. Hands down while big is highly manuverable against a lumbering Star Destroyer which in the movies seems to have only two speeds slow like a barge, and super fast light speed. It would not be effective against a Galaxy Class which is able to seperate and operate as two different ships, moving in much the same way as jet fighters.
Then finally the Soveriegn Class Starship NCC-1701-E. Which like the Star Destroyer is large, but again his highly manueverable, It also has a considerable upgrade arsenal from the Star Destroyers preffered depth charge weapons, and blasters. As the essential borg killer starship its new quantum torpedoes would cut through any hull like butter. Line of sight phaser banks also make the tie fighter support from the Star Destroyer obsolete.
It would be an interesting test, I like both franchises and it certainly would be a case of the let the best ship win,:)
