How do you strap on a knife?
Just got a new knife and the sheath has two leather cords on the top and bottom. On long hikes and camping trips, I always kept a knife in my bag, so honestly I’m at a loss on how I’m SUPPOSED to secure this thing to me… Do I just tie it around my thigh? My calf? Loop a belt??
If it helps, my knife is a Benchmade CSK.
Those cords are additional tie-downs. The clip on the back of the sheath is for fastening it to some form of military MOLLE gear. (probably a vest) Just slip this knife onto your belt as you normally would by using the sheath’s pass-through slot.
The bottom tie-down is meant to be wrapped around your thigh; with this knife it is completely unnecessary and shouldn’t be used. Were you to secure the knife to the outside of your knapsack, you might want to use both tie-downs; otherwise neither one is really necessary.
