what the disadvantage of a gasless wire welder (flux cored arc welder)?
i already ordered one. so i dont know what i’m up against
this one also said that you have the option of getting a gas bottle. but you dont have to have one. wire diameter is .030 to .035
Great choice! FCAW is my personal favorite. Easy to learn and quite forgiving. Some disadvantages are that it leaves slag that you must chip off (like stick welding, but unlike GMAW, which uses solid wire and shielding gas, but no flux); also it is limited in what you may weld compared to GMAW (i.e., no aluminum welding, for example). Oh, also, it generates more fumes than most of the other processes.
