What PDA phone is best in South Africa with GPS Nav?
I’m looking for a touch (stylus pen) PDA that has GPS Navigation with Windows sync etc. and hand writing recognition – I have a 1 second memory (!!) so am constantly scribbling notes on whatever I can find (& promptly lose!) – I need organization for tasks, meetings, to do’s etc etc. HP iPAQ 614C ? or maybe the HTC Touch ? – or … ? ?? ? ? (that comes with windows software).
Please remember that I am in SOUTH AFRICA, so not as high tech or stocked as the US etc..! Many thanks, Cheers
This HTC uses new Windows Mobile 6 Professional version, that makes this device work and SOUND nice, even with OMAP 801, 200MhZ processor.
HTC Touch has bluetooth and WiFi as well!It works superb!
The main trick about this HTC, that you may use it without stylus, only with your fingers, but you need to get used to this system(of course,stylus is available) – that is thanks to new innovative HTC Touch FLO technology.
Now,about the device ergonomics,design and perfomance.
First of all, HTC Touch works quite fast, without stalls, even with 200MhZ processor, it works faster than HTC P3300 Artemis(see next review).I can not explain why it is so, but this is true and it really made me happy.
New software makes it easy and fun to control and use your HTC thanks to HTC Touch FLO system and Touch FLO interface(a 3D software cube with all main accesses-hard to explain, everyone need to test by him/herself this system to understand it and to find out,if it is good or bad).
Design of HTC is innovative as well:dimensions are close to simple cell phone and are comfortable to take you HTC with you in any pocket-it suites even any women,espetially because of new HTC Touch bag.I ell so,because most of the PDA were thougt to be used by men only,and i`m really glad to see now something really nice and suitable for EVERYONE,
The HTC Touch is made of soft such plastic, that makes it comfortable and plaesant to hold.
thanks to new Windows Mobile 6, HTC user are able to check weather forecast in one press on HTC screen!
Speaking about the screen:it doesn`t fade in sun a lot and is really good ndoors,but actualy, nothing new from HTC-it`s rally goood,but it`s not the best i`ve seen.
The battery will last at least for 3-4 days of average use(up to 1 hour talks,1 hour WiFi,1 hour internet with GPRS/EDGE).
During 2 weeks of using this HTC had no problems at all-everything works fine,no stalls or drop-offs, WiFi works great, bluetooth as well-no problems with conection.
I used to use mine HTC with fingers only in couple of days,and i find it now really convinient.
It can installTomTom6.3 and TomTom 6.8 on it and has a good GPS navigation system
