how to you repair a scratched dvd/cd with sandpaper?
ive read you need a grit higher than 1000 and to wet sand the dvd in a radial motion, then use a rubbing compound and repeat.
i have a fairly deep circular scratch on my 360 game, so “cleaning ” or shinning up the disc won’t do anything. I need to actually repair it

I would be afraid of sandpaper but I can tell you what will work.
Go to a hardware store and buy a can of “Brasso” brass polish.
Pour a generous amount on the disk and rub across (not around) the disk with a folded paper towel pressing VERY hard.
Wash thoroughly in warm (not hot) water with dish washing detergent. Pat dry with a paper towel.
That should fix it but repeat the process if necessary.
